The Golden Penguin Award is recognized throughout the industry as a symbol of excellence. It represents dedication, innovation, and success in the promotion of refrigerated foods. Sargento Foods was awarded the Silver Penguin for the terrific promotion and efforts to develop community awareness of June Dairy Month at the Ft. Leonard Wood Commissary. The promotional program was put together to inform the commissary shoppers about dairy products while reaching out to the community with fun & educational activities for the whole family.

Sargento also teamed with Dunham and Smith clients Blue Bunny and Horizon Organic to make this a huge success.

Included in the festivities was a giant penguin performing skate boarding tricks and a petting zoo of farm animals for the children. A table with educational material on the health, wellness, and the importance of dairy in one’s diet was set up for the adults. The entire store, from baggers to the store director dressed for the occasion in clown, cow, penguin and cheese head outfits!

A 16 ft Sargento cheese and Horizon Organic Products display as well as a Blue Bunny display with samples helped to sell an incremental 400 cases for the day! The event also helped foster a relationship between the customer and our dairy products that will stay with them as they shop in the future.
